STOMPer sohxuanyi is upset that ITE students are being blamed for the crowded situation on Bus 180, causing passengers to be unable to board the bus. He feels a better solution is simply to have more buses ply the route.
Said the STOMPer:
"I have received a letter from ITE, telling me that commuters are unable to board Bus 180, apparently because ITE students do not move to the rear of the bus.
"This made many of my classmates and schoolmates very angry.
"I have been taking Bus 180 to school for one and a half years now.
"Every single time, I notice that it is the uncles and aunties who don't move to the rear of the bus.
"Yet, ITE students are being blamed due to the fact that many students from Boon Lay-Jurong East take the bus to school as it is an alternative route.
"I really hope that ITE Headquarters and SMRT can take some action and not blame ITE students for this.
"Even during the mornings, there is a lack of Bus 180s.
"Many students, myself included, are late because there are too many commuters, and not because ITE students don't move in."

Hey guys, pertaining to this issue, this survey is created to garner responses, we would like to propose to SMRT and SBS to install infrared sensors along the aisles of public buses and an alarm system that will go off when triggered when the circuit is not broken, so as to improve the situation where commuters are unwilling to move into the rear of the bus. In addition, a blinking neon 'Please Move in to the Rear' sign will be placed at the back of the bus. The alarm will only stop ringing and the sign will be inactivated when the back aisle of the bus is occupied.
