3 shophouses on fire at Arab Street: Lit cigarette might have been the cause
STOMPer Ragu said the fire which spread to three shop houses at Arab Street early this morning (Aug 10) might have been caused by a lit cigarette.
Ragu said:
"At about 3am, one of the shop houses along Arab street caught fire.
"The staff started rolling out a long pipe and spraying water.
"Shortly after, the fire engine arrived and started doing their job but by that time, it seems the fire had spread to 3 shops!
"Rumour has it that someone might have deliberately flicked a cigarette into the shop.
