She used to sport long tresses, but in June she decided to shave her head -- for 'Hair for Hope', in support of the Children's Cancer Foundation.
Guan Min Hui, 16, managed to raise $1,260 through donations from her family, friends, her mother's colleagues, and even from a stranger who purchased her locks for $60.
In addition, her schoolmates from Holy Innocents' High School also shaved their hair last weekend in support of the same cause.
Netizens gave their thumbs up for the Secondary 4 student, and called her a 'real beauty', and said they had 'utmost respect for her'.
On a group photo with her classmates posted on the school's facebook page, netizens commented how proud they were of the students, 'especially the ladies' and commented 'this is one cool bunch of boys'.
Another netizen commented, 'It is very encouraging to see the selfless attitude in our students!'
Hair for Hope started in 2003 and this marks its tenth year.
