Bus bursts into flame at Woodlands Circle

Many STOMPers sent in emails showing an SMRT bus 913 on fire near Woodlands Circle last night (July 15) at around 11pm.

STOMPer Elvin said:

"The bus exploded near Woodlands MRT.

"It was pretty crazy and dramatic as residents all got out of their houses to look, although the firemen came very quickly to put out the fire.

"I don't think anyone was hurt.

"I've never seen anything like this."

STOMPer Inana said:

"Luckily, there weren't any passengers.

"SMRT should do something as the public would feel insecure to ride in public transport in the future."

STOMPer Michelle added:

"The bus driver didn't know the bus was on fire until someone pointed it out."

STOMPer max also wrote in with his account:

"My sister woke me up at around 11.30pm yesterday (Jul 15).

"I looked outside my window and saw the bus on fire.

"There were about three explosions before the bus caught fire.

"I saw a large crowd gathered at the area."

STOMPer Shumonn, praised the effectiveness of our fire department:

"The fire fighters came within three minutes and put out the fire very quickly.

"It's such a rare sight and it's good to see our local fire fighters being able to stand up to their name!".

This bus model will catch gore easily. Cause it's like forcing the engine. Causing it to overheat. I think SMRT should change these buses to a better one. This model is way too dangerous for the public. A good chance to tell SMRT to change.
