Taxi which stops without signaling causes driver behind to slam on brakes

STOMPer Zakaria89 was annoyed that a CityCab taxi did not signal that it was stopping, causing him to brake sharply to avoid hitting it.

The STOMPer said:

"I was turning in to Palais Renaisance when this CityCab taxi (SHB4776M) stopped in front of the zebra crossing, causing me to slam on my brakes.

"The hazard lights were not even turned on..."

Please all ride and drive safely. Too many accidents and deaths this year on our roads. God bless all. Let's follow the rules.

Almost every accident in Singapore involves a taxi.

If we remove just 10% of all bad taxi drivers off the road, the accident rate in Singapore will start to drop.

foolsh_2012 is a taxi driver. He beat a red light at Jelita, got flashed by camera. After that he went to his taxi forum and whined to all the seniors, asking what to do. He got slapped with $200 fine and 12 points. Now he is telling people here that "you must give way to taxi drivers cos they got better skill than you." I spit on reckless taxi drivers like him.

Not only certain number of taxi drivers shown no responsibility likewise out there other typical motorist does that too. Base on statistic if there are one over 50% of drivers don't signal their intention and road hogging. When they road hog they will twist it to say I'm not speeding. What to do if they claim that is their Grandfather Road. I rest my case just be tolerance and learn to be patience.

If there's a video evidence, send it to LTA, TP and the taxi company. Let them do something about it.

NTA should look seriously into the taxi drivers behaviour on the road. there are good ones but handful. last few days i have accounted with taxi brakes at zebra crossing and traffic lights when the light is green just to pick up customers.
